![]() ![]() That is why it is probably delayed, they are hopefully prepared to fight a whole battle that we don't realize. Ladder is where you can get truly wealthy in this game. But I am a filthy casual compared to some die hard diablo fans and I can tell you those guys are probably already setting up a bot that will work on day one. #Diablo 2 runeword mod freeSo I am looking forward to trying my hand in a bot free economy, I feel like I know what to farm to make the most wealth and I will be rolling in high runes in no time. It is hard to add up but if I were to estimate conservatively I would say i played over 3000 hours of diablo 2 from 2006 to 2014. The amount of value of in game gear I put into paying for those high runes might by 12 high runes in a ladder economy that had zero botting. Blood sweat and tears went into earning those high runes that were artificially low value because of other people botting. i have used easily at least 300 high runes in runewords over those same years. Like I said, i have found one cham rune myself in all those years. That is conservative, its actually way harder than 10 times. Because assuming d2r will not have botting at least in the beginning, people who never realized how much they were benefiting from botting are going to hate that it takes 10 times the work to get the same results now. You will find a large group of people not enjoying the game because they won't put in the work to farm the stuff valuable enough to get the best stuff. This isn't a net negative for me personally, it means all of the lower tier loot will hold a higher value for a lot longer, because the jump to top tier gear is kind of big. Even if I build the wealth to afford it, it simply won't be for sale in a lot of cases. It would be a game where I did not have a fairly simple path to the end game gear. I can sit here and say I hate botting and it should go away but then the result would be a different game than I have been playing all these years. Yet I was still benefiting tremendously from botting. This meant i could farm torches with cheap gear and trade those torches for godly gear without ever doing any cheating myself. ![]() I only ever went for them when I was immediately going to socket them. This always had a big impact when I was trading because it meant high runes were scary to deal with. It meant any high runes you actually managed to trade for would just go poof. At least this was a problem way back when I played. These runes tend to randomly disappear out of your inventory. There are also duplicating glitches that make duplicating runes possible. When you remove bots from the game the values are 1000 percent more expense because there are no bots grinding them out all day. It is far easier for me to get them by trading in smartly chosen loot towards them than it is to ever actually find them. #Diablo 2 runeword mod fullYet ladder after ladder I am decked in top end gear full of high runes. Which is a pretty shitty high rune if you cant use it for anything. I have played thousands of hours over 2 decades and even I have only found one High Rune which was a cham. Remove botting from the game and people will realize how absolutely absurdly difficult it is to find these things. It also means that if you want to get them its actually pretty easy. It means when you find them they have a low value. Those rare items you can find are now artificially abundant. They have bots farming 24 hours a day, thousands of them. There isnt really any public games that are not botting. If a casual/new player hopped online d2 right now they will see enchant bots, baal bots, diablo bots and so on. I have thought a lot about this in the last few days. People often think ladder is pointless but this is the main reason to play it. I am personally interested in what the economy will look like, especially on ladder. For those that want a fresh and fair experience d2r is very appealing for that reason alone. How vigilant will blizzard be? If you go by history they seem to sometimes be swift and fatal as a response and other times completely uninterested in even acknowledging the problem. It is hopefully likely that d2rs release will at least stop botting for a time. ![]()
